Last week, Klaipėda became the center of maritime spirit and youth engagement as the national student competition “Jūrų Keliais”, organized by Lithuanian Maritime Academy, brought together nearly 300 students from across Lithuania.
For decades, the competition has introduced young people to the maritime world and encouraged interest in careers at sea and within the broader maritime industry. Throughout two dynamic days, participants took part in a variety of practical and team-based challenges – navigating vessels, tying nautical knots, completing exercises in the pool, and testing their teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving skills in real-life maritime situations.
As social partners of the initiative, OJ Crew and Lithuanian Seafarers Union are proud to contribute to projects that inspire and educate the next generation. Competitions such as “Jūrų keliais” play an important role in broadening students’ understanding of maritime professions, port operations, maritime safety, and educational opportunities within the sector.
We sincerely thank the organizers for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful initiative and look forward to supporting future generations of maritime professionals.
